Phone users without signal since New Year’s Eve
Date published: 10 January 2017
Residents in Whitworth are still without phone signal after an O2 mast has reportedly been down since New Year’s Eve (31 January 2016).
When contacted, O2 said it is aware of the problem and that work is scheduled to replace aerial cable at the site on Wednesday 11 January, 12 days after the fault was reported.
An O2 spokesperson said: “Our mast in Whitworth is experiencing issues due to a problem with overhead cabling.
“Our third party supplier is due to repair a section of aerial cabling between their pole and the site of our mast tomorrow (11 January).
“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience whilst we work as quickly as possible to restore full service in the area.”
