Man hit by a car on Drake Street

A man in his late 20s has been taken to Royal Oldham Hospital after he was hit by a car at the top of Drake Street, on the corner of Moore Street, at 9.25pm (Thursday 12 January).

A witness said: "The windscreen was all smashed in, but the lad is conscious though, he got up when the ambulance arrived."

A spokesperson for GMP said: "We attended a road traffic collision between a black Volkswagen and a pedestrian shortly before 9.30pm last night."

A spokesperson for NWAS said: "We were called at 21.24 and arrived on the scene at 21.29. We sent a response unit and an ambulance and took a male patient in his late 20s to Royal Oldham Hospital."
