The people of Rochdale are being asked to come together to release balloons at 6.00pm Friday (13 January) at Rochdale Town Hall and Whitworth Memorial Gardens in memory of Joshua McCormack, who died this morning at the tender age of five after a long battle with brain cancer.
Karen Atkinson said: “People of Rochdale and afar, I’m asking if you would all like to get together later and release red, yellow and blue balloons and light candles to help Joshua’s wings fly to his resting place.
“I was thinking the town hall for six o’clock and will bring a bucket for donations to extra help give Josh the best send off his parents would want.
“Let’s show what we are for Kev, Nicky and Warrior Josh.”
Superhero character balloons are also encouraged as Joshua loved superheroes.
Proceeds from the donation bucket will go to Nicola and Kevin McCormack.
