Date published: 13 February 2017
A dangerous driver was arrested after being caught on film overtaking despite oncoming traffic on Bury Road in Bamford on Thursday (2 February).
The maroon Vauxhall Signum is seen trying to overtake at speed, despite heavy oncoming traffic. The car it attempted to overtake was forced into a blue Audi TT as it was pulling out of a driveway.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at 4.45pm to reports of a theft of a motor vehicle. Police witnessed the Vauxhall Signum jumping red lights at the junction of Bury Road and pursued it after it failed to stop. The vehicle collided with several other vehicles.
“Those in the vehicle made off on foot and were detained nearby.
“A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, possession of a Class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
“He has been bailed pending further enquiries.”
