New trees being planted in Wince Brook Nature Reserve
Volunteers helped to plant 300 new trees in Wince Brook in Middleton on Saturday 18 February.
The trees, shrubs and bluebell bulbs were planted in four areas around the nature reserve:
- Around the new sewage chamber.
- Two places in the fields to the rear of Wince Close.
- Near the Mainway East side of Wince Brook.
A representative of the Friends of Wince Brook said: “I was pleased with the number of people who helped. It was the highest number we have ever had. Full marks again to Ranger Mike and the Green Volunteers, what would we do without them.”
The trees, provided by The Woodland Trust, have been planted as part of The 10,000 Trees Project.
