Reveal the Roch wins North West Civil Engineering Community Award

Date published: 17 March 2017

The ‘Reveal the Roch’ project in Rochdale has been commended by the North West Civil Engineering Community Awards.

Councillor Richard Farnell, leader of Rochdale Borough Council, said: “It’s great to add this commendation to the many awards we’ve been lucky enough to receive for this project.

“Rochdale’s river re-opening has held its own amongst the best projects in the country and that’s something we’re very proud of.

“The newly re-opened river not only reduces flood risk, but it really lifts the whole area and will continue to be a stunning town centre heritage feature, alongside others like our grade 1 listed town hall, St Chad’s Church and the war memorial, for years to come.”
