Councillor Richard Farnell, Samaritans branch Director Janet Murphy and Simon Danczuk celebrate 50 years of the Samaritans
Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk and the leader of Rochdale Borough Council, Councillor Richard Farnell, visited the Samaritans Rochdale, Oldham and District branch as part of a series of events to mark their 50th anniversary.
Mr Danczuk said: “I think the Samaritans do a wonderful job as a listening ear for our town by providing round the clock emotional support to those struggling to cope.
"Rochdale, Oldham and District branch took their first call on 1 March 1967 and their work throughout the years deserves to be celebrated.
"I look forward to supporting their vital work in the future”.
