The new pirate ship equipment at the Caldershaw play area gutted by fire
Arsonists have attacked the new pirate ship equipment at the Caldershaw play area in Norden.
Assessing the damage done by "irresponsible youths", Councillor Peter Winkler, Councillor Jim Gartside and Paul Ellison, said they were "saddened".
Mr Ellison added: "This play area is used by local children and families.
"Anyone with information please contact myself or local councillors, or call the police on 101."
The park has been secured by the council and it is understood it will be cleared up asap.
Councillor Winkler has said he will be doing his utmost to reinstate the park back to how it was, and is already talking to the relevant authorities.
