Six-year-old Dylan Gelling is to be awarded with a special certificate after he was the youngest person to complete a 7.25 mile Hospice to Hospice walk.
Springhill Hospice’s mascot, Springy, will present Dylan with his certificate during a ‘Praise Assembly’ at St Patrick’s Primary school on Tuesday morning (13 June).
Dylan and his mum, Kirsty Wilkinson, took part in their first ever charity walk together to cover the distance between Springhill Hospice to Dr Kershaw Hospice in Royton. The walk took them a total of 2.5 hours and they raised around £60 for the Hospice.
Kirsty said: “Dylan really enjoyed it; he walked the whole way and didn’t complain once. It was such a massive achievement for such a young boy.”
