Gearing up for Armed Forces Day on 24 June

Date published: 12 June 2017

Heywood and Milnrow are gearing to show their appreciation for the UK’s Armed Forces.

Events will take place across the North West, including an Armed Forces Day Service in Heywood Memorial Gardens and the Annual Heywood 1940s Day both on 17 June and the The Big Brew Up in support of The Armed Forces Charity at Milnrow Library on 19 June.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to say thank you to the entire Armed Forces community for the outstanding work they do.

Sir Stuart Peach, Chief of Defence Staff, commented: “I’m delighted to see people across the United Kingdom coming together to mark Armed Forces Day. The day is a chance for people to say thank you to the extraordinary men and women, stationed across the globe who dedicate their lives to defending their country and keeping British people safe.”
