Rochdale Sixth Form raises £1,860 for Rochdale and District Mind

Rochdale Sixth Form students and staff
Forty students and staff members from Rochdale Sixth Form College have raised £1860 for Rochdale and District Mind.
The students and staff members took part in this year’s Manchester 10k race, volunteered to pack bags and shake buckets at ASDA supermarket to help boost the fundraising efforts and also encouraged all their friends, family and colleagues to sponsor them online.
The College is accepting donations until 28 July so it is likely that the total will increase.
Jack Lyons, teaching assistant ooordinator, said: “The atmosphere in Manchester was one of community, solidarity and defiance and this made the event an even more special and significant one to be part of for Rochdale Sixth Form College’s students and staff.
"It’s fantastic to achieve a third successful year of running the Manchester 10k and to continue to support Rochdale Mind through our fundraising.
"Well done to all runners and hope to see you all next year.”
Kainat Nafees, Year 13 student at the college, said: “I never thought I’d be able to run 10k without stopping, but we did it and the atmosphere was amazing.”
