Date published: 27 June 2017

Paul Lawson’s funeral will take place at Rochdale Crematorium on Friday 7 July at 1.40pm.

Paul, a first-year BTEC Sport student at Hopwood Hall college and avid football player, died on Monday 19 June after a tragic accident at Greenbooth Reservoir. Having previously played for Wardle FC, Paul was a member of the Hopwood Hall Football Academy team at Middleton Campus when he passed away.

The funeral cortege will set off from Paul’s home at 1.15pm; the public are welcomed to the service to pay their respects if they wish. Smart casual and bright colours are requested by Paul’s mum.

A wake will take place at The Norden Arms shortly after the service has finished. The family would appreciate some privacy at this time to be together with close friends, family and friends Paul knew personally.

Family and close friends’ flowers only please.
