Floral tribute in Jubilee Park,Middleton to Manchester bomb victims
A second tribute to the 22 people who lost their lives in the Manchester Arena attack has been created at Jubilee Park in Middleton.
The first bee, sited next to the statue of John Bright in Broadfield Park, was completed two weeks ago by grounds operatives in the Council's environmental management team.
The outline of the Manchester bee was planted with a mix of yellow non stop begonia and crystal palace lobelia.
Members of the public have already been keen to commend the bees and the work of the council as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives.
Councillor Neil Emmott, the Council’s cabinet member for housing and environment, said: “This is a fitting tribute to those innocent lives lost in the atrocities at Manchester arena.
"Our floral displays of Manchester’s worker bee is a small tribute to show that we as a borough stand in solidarity with Manchester and echo the spirit shown in the aftermath of this terrible event.”
