Milnrow Band champions of Brighouse Festival of Brass

Milnrow Band performing at the Whit Friday Saddleworth Contests in June
Milnrow Band was adjudged champions overall for 2017 of the 18th Brighouse March and Hymn Contest on Sunday 3 July.
Conducted by Mark Bentham, Milnrow also won several other awards.

- Best Trombone Section
- Best Soloist
Ken Watts said: “Playing to a record breaking crowd basking in brilliant Brighouse sunshine Milnrow Band won the coveted title, pushed hard by runners up for the second successive year, Hammonds Saltaire, with Hepworth taking third place.
“Not a bad haul for a lovely warm Sunday with a record crowd.”
The contest was organised by organised by Brighouse & District Lions.
