Stores at Central Retail Park in Rochdale centre were evacuated on Wednesday afternoon (19 July) due to an abandoned rucksack.
Police officers attended and carried out a precautionary evacuation of Argos, Halfords and Matalan between 1.30pm and 2pm.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “Upon further inspection, no suspicious package was found and there was no threat to the community as the bag was found to contain a gym kit.”
