The MAD Theatre Company asks do you want to become involved in amateur dramatics?

Date published: 29 August 2017

The MAD Theatre Company is seeking new members and volunteers to be part of the next year of productions.

The Milnrow-based group would love to hear from those who are interested in becoming involved in a theatre company, and are on the lookout for help across all departments, including lighting and sound, backstage, costume, props and front of house.

Society Publicity Officer Kyle Wilcock said: "Mads is changing in lots of different ways. Firstly, we have a new chairman, Sue Pecheur, and we are now looking at performing plays for the end of the current year and into 2018. We are also looking to do some charity fundraising and have many events planned for the future.

“Members and volunteers are essential to the success of the society."

Founded as the Milnrow Amateur Dramatic Society, the group has a rich history dating back to August 1971, when it was created by Margaret Hopkinson and her late friend, Jean McIntosh. They presented their first play 'The Bride and the Bachelor' at the-then Roch Valley High School in April 1972.

Since then, the society - which became The MAD Theatre Company in 2000 - has gone from strength to strength, presenting comedies, thrillers, farces and pantomimes.
