Councillor Butterworth talks to shoppers at the Milnrow precinct on National Campaign Day

Date published: 03 October 2017

Councillor Neil Butterworth took to the streets of Milnrow to engage with residents on a number of issues on Saturday (30 September).

He was speaking with Saturday shoppers at the Milnrow precinct on National Campaign Day where events took place all over the country, taking the message of hope from the Labour Party’s leaders speech.

Councillor Butterworth said: “Our country faces massive challenges under this Tory led selfish government, they have attacked the disabled, those without jobs and our children’s education.

“Jeremy [Corbyn] and the rest of the Shadow Cabinet laid out a real progressive alternative to the Tory (and formerly Lib Dem) Austerity Britain policies. It was really well received by the shoppers I talked with on Saturday.

“Our country at last has a rational and costed alternative to the lack of ideas and compassion from this dogma-led, tired and desperate administration.”
