Police highly unlikely to catch burglars

Over nine out of ten burglary investigations in Greater Manchester are closed without a suspect being identified, according to Home office figures.

Police close a case when a crime has been investigated "as far as reasonably possible".

  • Residential burglary 92.3%
  • Theft of a bicycle 92.1%
  • Criminal damage to a vehicle 83.2%
  • Theft of a vehicle 80.2%
