A sea of pink riders flooded the hills around Watergrove Reservoir for Hack Off Cancer
Around 50 riders took to the hills under the glorious sunshine as the Hack Off Cancer annual horse riding themed charity fundraiser returned to Watergrove Reservoir on Sunday (29 October).
The ride was organised in aid of Cancer Research UK by The Three Amigos FUNdraising Group - Kath and Andy O’Donnell, from Littleborough.
Most riders donned pink outfits, with some dressing up in Halloween-themed costumes.
The Three Amigos were so impressed with the outfits they gave five prizes for best outfit.
Kath said: “It looks like we will raise around £2,000 for Hack Off Cancer this year.
"The pink riders on the moors looked magnificent and really made an impact on raising awareness for cancer.
"It was a lovely bright sunny day and the views were gorgeous, showing how stunning our area is.
“Many of the riders said they and their horse loved the ride and look forward to coming again next year.”
She added: “Thanks to all who took part and those who helped, and thanks to United Utilities for letting us use their land.
“We would also like to thank those for their patience in parking and walking around Watergrove, and those who donated prizes.”
The main sponsor this year was Sarah Bamber EquiTherapies Equine Sports Massage, and prizes were donated by Emerald Feeds, Honey Chop, Allen and Page, Dodson and Horrell, Rowan Barbary, Dengie, Protexin, Harry Hall, Just Chaps, Tottie, Nags Rags, Regatta, Toggi, New Med, Naylors, Finest Brands, Battles, Naf, Likit, Vicky Mansfield photo shoot, Finders Spa products and Faith In Nature.
