Rochdale Boroughwide Housing suspends employees

Date published: 09 November 2017

A number of employees have been suspended at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing following ‘an allegation’ into their activities, including use of company vehicles and the recording of working time.

The auditors who carried out a review are understood to have identified that the majority of RBH employees were complying with all rules and regulations, but highlighted a number of issues.

These ranged from ‘deliberate’ clockings and ‘systematic falsification of time recordings with the intention of fraudulently claiming non-working time as paid work’ to employees using vehicles for activity outside of work requirements and ‘unexplained behaviour’.

If the behaviour cannot be explained, RBH is understood to be looking at ‘some level disciplinary action’.

RBH employees have been asked not to have any contact with those who have been suspended without prior discussion with the investigating officer.

A RBH spokesman said: “This is an internal matter and is subject to an ongoing investigation. It is not appropriate for us to comment.”
