Santa Dash Postponed
The annual Santa Dash or Dawdle at Hollingworth Lake on Sunday (10 December) has been cancelled due to concerns about safety with ice on the route.
Lillie Winterbottom, from organisers Springhill Hospice, said: "The weather has got the better of us, such a shame.
"We have decided that, in the interests of the health and safety of our Santas, the event is to be postponed.
"The good news is that all of our santas will have something to look forward to in the New Year because, as soon as we can agree dates with the council and the visitors centre, we will be Dash or Dawdling around the lake again.
"We are thinking of a January Jingle or a Festive February... Santa suits and all."
