Electricity North West replacing pylon at junction of Gypsy Lane and Royle Road
Electricity North West replacing an aging pylon which has been keeping the power on for almost 50,000 customers for more than 60 years in Castleton.
Work started last week at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Royle Road and engineers will replace the 30m high pylon with a 26m high new pylon.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West, said: “We are proud to be investing around £393,000 to ensure 50,000 customers in the area enjoy a reliable supply of power which we all take for granted every day.
“Power cuts are thankfully rare, but as this pylon was first installed in the 1950s it is vital we replace it now so we continue to deliver an excellent, safe and affordable service to all our customers in the area.”
