Rochdale author releases third book

Daphanie Carol Taylor third novel entitled ‘Full Circle: Hidden Secrets’

Local author Daphanie Carol Taylor has released her third novel entitled ‘Full Circle: Hidden Secrets’.

Daphanie - real name Carol Dodgson - has always been interested in writing from an early age and used to create stories for her granddaughter before trying her hand at publishing novels.

Her debut novel, 'The New Beginning', was published in December 2016, following the journey of four young women from Oldham and Rochdale who emigrate to Australia before the Second World War. 

Commenting on her latest release, Carol said: “I thought it might be interesting to set the book in Rawtenstall in the foothills of the Pennies.

“It takes one of the characters to Portsmouth, whilst the others or are in and around Manchester.

“The book is in two parts. The first is ‘Hidden Secrets’ and the other, which is due out shortly, is called ‘The Double Cross’. 

“Maud and Sara Richards live in a cotton mill town in the foothills of the Rossendale Valley, Lancashire. Their parents wanted to give the two sisters the best opportunity they could have and sacrificed a great deal to give them the best education possible.

“After fulfilling their education, Maud went into the world of teaching, which had always been her dream. She then meets solicitor John Howard. She was in love with him and it was the perfect marriage, or so she thought.

“For Sara, it took her sometime to realise her potential as she was head over heels in with Tommy Foster, who was from the wrong side of the track with a bad reputation. However, she eventually joins the Royal Navy for adventure and excitement, only to become entangled with a Dave Phillip who likes to be in control.

“For the girls their journeys take them into a sordid world of deceit and danger.

“The title Full Circle speaks for itself.”
