Family fun day raises over £1,200 for refugees in Athens

The family fun day raised more than £1,200
More than £1,200 was raised charity at a family fun day at Upperkutz Barbers on Halifax Road, Rochdale on Sunday (13 May).
The event, organised by Upperkutz Barber and Building Futures, raised the money to help refugees in Athens, Greece who have fled war.
The day included a charity haircut and guest appearances plus Mickey Mouse, a live DJ, bouncy castle, barbecue, children’s activities, sweets and treats, and a raffle draw.
Hassan Ali, the founder of Building Futures, said: “This is only a start. We hope to bring some more amazing projects to the Rochdale community. It is about promoting love, peace and unity within the communities.”
