Universal Credit rolls out across Rochdale on 16 May
Universal Credit Full Service rolls out across the Rochdale borough from Wednesday 16 May.
Universal Credit Full Service is an interactive service which claimants and staff use to build and maintain accounts for Universal Credit. The online service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
UC FS is designed to work on mobile devices as well as on a desktop computer, making it easier for claimants to access the service in a way that suits them.
The Universal Credit Full Service is available to all claimants.
The single monthly payment replaces the six current working age benefits, and the changes are ‘likely’ to affect tens of thousands across the borough.
The total caseload of Universal Credit claims in the borough on 31 October 2017 was 4,068.
60% of these claimants were not in employment at the time, with 55% based in Rochdale, 27% in Middleton and 18% in Heywood.
The majority were aged between 25 and 49 (61%) with one third (29%) aged 16 to 24.
