to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along: 

  • Argyle Street - from its easterly junction with Sutherland Road to its westerly junction with Sutherland Road.
  • Gordon Way - for its entire length.
  • Argyle Parade - for its entire length.
  • Sutherland Road - from its easterly junction with Argyle Street to its westerly junction with Argyle Street. 

Expected start and finish: 12noon-6pm, Saturday, 7 July 2018.
Reason: to facilitate the safe holding of the Darn Hill Festival Parade.
Alternative route: due to the nature and duration of the event it is not necessary for alternative routes to be in place.

Location: Heywood Footpath 117

to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along Heywood Footpath 117, HeyFp117, from its junction with restricted byway RocARuppl6 and footpath RocAFpl0 at Deans Brow (point A) continuing in a northerly direction for 22 metres (point B) and then proceeding in a generally north north west direction for 1,044 metres to the most southerly corner of Naden Higher Reservoir (point C).

Expected start and finish: 12.01am, Thursday, 26 April 2018 - midnight, Friday, 26 October 2018
Reason: to facilitate underground cabling works by Electricity North West Limited.
Alternative route: there is no alternative route for pedestrians.

Location: Resurfacing Wilton Grove & Lorraine Close

to temporarily prohibit vechiles from proceeding along: 

  • Wilton Grove for its entire length.
  • Lorraine Close for is entire length. 

Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm each day, Monday, 9 July 2018-Friday, 20 July 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place.

Location: Resurfacing Cowburn Street & Kirkstall Avenue 

to temporarily prohibit vechiles from proceeding along: 

  • Cowburn Street for its entire length.
  • Kirkstall Avenue for is entire length. 
  • Whitby Avenue for its entire length.
  • Hill Street for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 9.30am-3.30pm each day, Monday, 9 July 2018-Friday, 20 July 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place.

Location: Resurfacing Hillcrest Avenue, Argyle Street & Higher Lomax Lane 

to temporarily prohibit vechiles from proceeding along: 

  • Hillcrest Avenue for its entire length.
  • Argyle Street for is entire length. 
  • Higher Lomax Lane for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 9.30am-3.30pm each day, Monday, 9 July 2018-Friday, 20 July 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place.

Location: Roeacre Street

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Roeacre Street from its junction with Rochdale Road East for a distance of 55 metres in a south easterly direction.
Expected start and finish: 7am, Saturday, 4 August 2018-7pm, Monday, 6 August 2018.
Reason: to facilitate the safe installation of new electricity cables in the carriageway.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles will be Rochdale Road East and Green Lane.

Location: Rochdale Footpath 43

to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from:

  • Rochdale Footpath 43, RocFFp43, for its entire length in an east north east direction from its junction with Oldham Road, Rochdale being 50 metres south south east from the most southerly corner of 2 Gilbrook Way, to its junction with Milnrow Footpath 331, MilFp33l.
  • Milnrow Footpath 331, MilFp33l, for its entire length in an east north east direction from its junction with RocFFp43 for 92 metres before turning in an easterly direction for 23 metres to its junction with Milnrow Footpath 329, MilFp329, and Milnrow Footpath 330, MilFp33O, being 123 metres east of the most northerly corner of 37 Sunhill Close, Rochdale.

Expected start and finish: 12.01am, Thursday, 14 December 2017 - midnight, Wednesday, 14 November 2018.
Reason: The order is required to facilitate underground cabling works by Electricity North West.
Alternative route: There is no alternative route for pedestrians


Rochdale Town Centre Riverside Development

Location:

  • To temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the following: 
    • Milton Street, the easterly footway from its junction with Baillie Street to its junction with Smith Street.
    • Smith Street, the northerly footway from its junction with Milton Street to its junction with John Street.
    • John Street, the westerly footway from its junction with Smith Street to a point 100 metres north of its junction with Baillie Street.
  • And to temporarily prohibit traffic from proceeding along the following:
    • Kelsall Street, for its entire length.
    • Acker Street, for its entire length. 
  • And to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Constantine Road for its entire length.
  • And to temporarily suspend the Borough of Rochdale (Baillie Street, Rochdale) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2013 in that vehicles will be permitted to travel in both directions on Baillie Street between its junctions with Bell Street and Acker Street.
  • And to temporarily introduce one-way working on Baillie Street from its junction with Constantine Road to its junction with Bell Street in that vehicles will be prohibited from travelling in a westerly direction between its junction with Constantine Road to its junction with Bell Street. 

Expected start and finish: 8am, Monday, 5 March 2018 - 6pm, Thursday, 5 September 2019.
Reason: to facilitate the safe construction of a retail development. 
Alternative route: Due to the nature of the temporary orders, it is not necessary for alternative routes to be in place.

Location: to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Baillie Street from its junction with Milton Street to its junction with John Street.
Expected start and finish: 8am, Monday, 9 April 2018 - 6pm, Tuesday, 8 October 2019. 
Reason: to facilitate ground remediation work in relation to the Riverside Development.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles is Milton Street, Smith Street and John Street. 

Location: to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Constantine Road for its entire length.
  • Baillie Street from its junction with Bell Street for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Monday, 18 June 2018 to 6pm, Monday, 27 August 2018.
Reason: to facilitate the Rochdale Riverside Development.
Alternative route: the alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists using Constantine Road is Lyceum Passage.


Location: The Strand, Kirkholt

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along The Strand from a point 240 metres west of the junction of Mornington Road.
Expected start and finish: 8am, Thursday, 10 May 2018 - 6pm, Friday, 29 June 2018.
Reason: to facilitate safe civil engineering works on the highway.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles is Aldwich Road, Daventry Road, Balderstone Road and Mornington Road.

Location: Birch Road, Wardle

to temporarily:

  • Introduce one-way working in a south-easterly direction along Birch Road. Vehicles will not be permitted to travel along Birch Road in a north-westerly direction from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Edward Street.
  • Prohibit vehicles from undertaking a right turn maneouvre from Halifax Road onto Birch Road.
  • Prohibit vehicles from undertaking a left turn maneouvre from Halifax Road onto Birch Road.

Expected start and finish: 6am, Saturday, 7 July 2018-6pm, Sunday, 8 July 2018.
Reason: to facilitate safe access to gas mains located in the carriageway.
Alternative route: the alternative route for vehicles is Halifax Road, Wardle Road, Ramsden Road and Birch Road.

Location: Resurfacing round Newhey

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Lilac Avenue, Newhey - for its entire length.
  • Birch Crescent, Newhey - for its entire length.
  • Harmony Street, Milnrow - for its entire length.
  • Silver Hill, Milnrow - for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm, Monday, 9-Thursday, 26 July 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Location: Resurfacing Passmonds Crescent, Primrose Street & Meadow View

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Passmonds Crescent - from the junction of Edenfield Road for its entire length.
  • Primrose Street - from the junction of Spotland Road to the junction of Holmes Street.
  • Meadow View - from the junction of Edenfield Road for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 7.30am, Monday, 9 July 2018-4pm, Friday, 27 July 2018.
Reason: to facilitate the safe resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place.

Location: Resurfacing round Smallbridge

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Stonie Heyes Avenue, Smallbridge - for its entire length.
  • Wesley Close, Smallbridge - for its entire length.
  • Oakcliffe Road, Wardle - for its entire length.
  • Dalton Avenue, Milnrow - for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm, Thursday, 12-Sunday, 29 July 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.

Location: Resurfacing round Mizzy Road

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Ashmount Drive - from Mizzy Road to Dew Meadows Close. 
Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm, Thursday 19 July 2018-Wednesday, 1 August 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Location: Resurfacing Snowden Street

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Snowden Street - from Gerrard Street to Nevis Street. 
Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm, Friday, 20 July 2018-Thursday, 2 August 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Keswick Street - from Manchester Road for its entire length.
  • Kingsland Road - from Crescent Road to Eskdale Avenue.

Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm, Monday, 23 July 2018-Friday, 3 August 2018 as required.
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Area: Middleton

LocationHollin Lane

to temporarily suspend part of the mandatory cycle lane:

  • On the east side of Hollin Lane from a point 125 metres north of its junction with Hazlehurst Drive for a distance of 56 metres in a northerly direction.
  • From a point 245 metres north of its junction with Hazlehurst Drive. for a distance of 52 metres in a northerly direction.

Expected start and finish: 8am, Monday, 16 July 2018-6pm, Wednesday, 15th January 2020.
Reason: to facilitate site access to, and egress from, a housing development site. 
Alternative route: cyclists will be able to travel across these points but the cycle lane will be advisory.

Location:  Virgin Media are currently installing new Fibre Broadband in the Pennines area.

  1. Contractors on site - contact a site supervisor. They are best placed to resolve many issues there and then. In most instances, this will be the quickest and safest way to resolve any issue.
  2. Virgin Media Helpdesk - if unresolved, or there are no contractors in the area, or if the site has been left in an unsafe manner and requires urgent attention, please ring the Virgin Media helpdesk on 0333 000 5925.

    The helpdesk hours are: Monday-Friday, 8am-7.30pm, Saturday, 8am-12noon. The helpdesk will alert the contractor and Virgin Media's compliance engineers.

Reason: to facilitate works to install a below ground sheet pile wall along the length of embarkment at the southern end of Upper Chelburn Reservoir.
Alternative route: the alternative route for pedestrians is from its junction with Littleborough Footpath 313, LitFp313, and Littleborough Footpath 317, LitFp317, at E395045, located approximately 180 metres east south east from properties known as Timbercliffe along Littleborough Footpath 317, LitFp317, and Littleborough Footpath 318, LitFp318, for the entire length to Longley Hey Farm and then in a north easterly direction and then in a northerly direction along Littleborough Footpath 303, LitFp303, for its entire length to its junction with Littleborough Footpath 300 and 302, LitFp300 and LitFp302, located approximately 170 metres south west of the property known as Leach Farm.

Location: Littleborough Footpaths

to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along part of Littleborough Footpath 283, LitFp283, from its junction with Todmorden Footpath 148, TodFp148, and Todmorden Footpath 152, TodFp152, located approximately 545 metres east north east from a property known as Calf Lee and running in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 400 metres to its junction with Littleborough Footpath 283, LitFp283, located approximately 847 metres east of the property known as Calf Lee.
Expected start and finish: 8am, Thursday, 22 February 2018 - midnight, Wednesday, 22 August 2018.
Reason: to facilitate works to reduce the risk of failure by seepage of water through the embankment and foundation at Warland Reservoir.
Alternative route: the alternative route for pedestrians is from its junction with Todmorden Footpath 148, TodFp148. and Todmorden Footpath 152, TodFp152, located approximately 545 metres east north east from a property known as Calf Lee and running in a north-north-westerly direction along Todmorden Footpath 152, TodFp152, then joining Todmorden Footpath 200, TodFp200, for approximately 180 metres to its junction with Todmorden Footpath 153, TodFp153, and then following TodFp153 in a south easterly direction for approximately 1,300 metres before turning in a south westerly direction between Warland Reservoir and Light Hazzles Reservoir for a distance of 600 metres to its junction with Littleborough Footpath 283, LitFp283, and vice versa.

  • Walmsley Avenue, Smithy Bridge - for its entire length.
  • Regent Street, Littleborough - from its junction with Brown Street to its junction with Wellington Street.
  • Brown Street, Littleborough - from its junction with Victoria Street to its junction with Regent Street.
  • Ferrand Road, Littleborough - for its entire length.

Expected start and finish: 7.30am-4.30pm each day, Monday, 9-Thursday, 26 July 2018 as required..
Reason: to facilitate the resurfacing of the carriageway.
Alternative route: alternative routes for vehicles will be signed on street when the closures are in place. Pedestrian access will not be affected.

Location: Littleborough Rushbearing Festival Saturday, 21 July & Sunday, 22 July

to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:

  • Canal Street - for its entire length.
  • Church Street - from its junction with Hare Hill Road to its junction with Canal Street.
  • Hare Hill Road - for its entire length.
  • Hollingworth Road - for its entire length.
  • Railway Street - from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Peel Street.
  • Rakewood Road - from the Hollingworth Country Park Car Park to its junction with Hollingworth Road.
  • Shore Road - for its entire length.
  • St Barnabas Drive - for its entire length.

And to temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time on Railways Street - from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Peel Street.

Expected start and finish:

  • The 1st parade will proceed along Shore Road, St Barnabas Drive, Hare Hill Road and Church Street between 11am-2pm, Saturday, 21 July 2018.
  • The 2nd parade will move along Rakewood Road, Hollingworth Road, Canal Street, Church Street and Railway Street between 11am-1pm, Sunday, 22 July 2018.
  • Railway Street will be closed from 8am-6.30pm on Sunday, 22 July 2018.
  • The Prohibition of Waiting Order on Railway Street will be operational from 12midnight-6.30pm, Sunday, 22 July 2018.

Reason: to facilitate the safe holding of the Rushbearing Festival and associated parades.
