A charity bowling match in Littleborough raised more than £900 for charity on Sunday.

£970 was raised on the day by Hare Hill Bowling Club’s annual charity match for the Alzheimer’s Society.

A representative from the club said: “A huge thank you to all of you who worked tirelessly on Sunday at the Alzheimer's charity match.

"The amount raised including donations was around £970, the treasurer is counting it again just to make sure he isn't dreaming.

“We had a great days’ bowling – the greens were fast and unforgiving. It was hard to keep a bowl on the green; they just whizzed past the jack.

“The semi-finalists were Andy and Zoe Taylor and Barbara Bell and Frank Griffiths. The losing finalists were Blake McLean and Michelle Morris and the very worthy winners, Luis Porter and Sherrie McLean.”
