Graffiti spree in Middleton

Date published: 10 October 2018

A mindless moron went on a graffiti spree around Middleton during the early morning hours of Sunday 7 October.

The places hit by the graffiti ‘artist’ include a planter outside Long Street Methodist Church, The Olde Boar’s Head, Broadbents, Mellalieu Street and The Woodman Inn.

CCTV footage of the culprit scrawling paint on at least one of the locations has been captured.

Councillor Neil Emmott, cabinet member for environment at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “This type of graffiti is not art but selfish, antisocial vandalism. We have made great strides in making Rochdale a cleaner, greener borough for all, which I hope has been noticed by residents.

“We would urge members the public with information on the culprits to contact the police.”
