Wild About Rochdale

Date published: 14 November 2018

Wild About Rochdale is an event organised by the Rochdale Field Naturalists Society and will bring together a diverse group of ‘Friends of ....’, societies, churches, charities, local government and other groups who somehow connect with environmental issues in Rochdale exhibiting and sharing what they do.

There will be a number of short talks, and a variety of activities for both adults and children to try out.

This free public event aims to engage as many people as we can to get active and to care about Rochdale’s green spaces and wildlife.

Jan Kidd from Rochdale Field Naturalists Society said: “We will have the opportunity to meet similar organisations, to network and share ideas or resources, to promote what we do, to enthuse members of the public to join us and generally get to know what is happening in Rochdale.

“Exhibitors include the Greater Manchester Record office, the Green Volunteers, RSBP, Faith4Change, Petrus-Incredible Edible and the ‘Dippy on Tour’ team, GMEU, Nature Ed, Moss Row Allotments, Rochdale in Bloom, Rochdale Environmental Action Group, Friends of Harehill Park and the Friends of Stoneyhill.

“There will be activities such as making a bird feeder, make a fabric tree, upcycle plant pots, activities based on trees, and litter-based activities.

“Topics include the Eco Church, Rochdale's wild spaces and Watergrove birds.

Wild About Rochdale is on Saturday 24 November from 10.30am – 3.30pm at St Mary in the Baum, Rochdale.
