Shortly after 8pm on Monday 12 November 2018 three offenders - armed with what is believed to have been a screwdriver - entered the Co-op on Rooley Moor Road, Rochdale.

The offenders jumped over the counter and prised away the cash tills. One of the offenders emptied the contents of the cigarette kiosk into a white duvet cover.

The three men threatened staff members then fled the scene with the cash tills and cigarettes. They made off in a white hatchback car, heading down Rooley Moor Road in the direction of Spotland Road.

The offenders are described as white men- believed to be in their 20s- and they were wearing black sportswear and black balaclavas.

Officers have released CCTV footage in the hope of identifying three men they wish to speak to.

Detective Constable Amie Whitehead of GMP’s Rochdale borough, said: “Luckily no one was injured, but it is disgraceful that hard-working people should be subject to such a terrifying ordeal when they are at work.

“If you witnessed the robbery or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time, please get in touch with police.

“Please take a close look at these CCTV images, and if you recognise any of these men I would urge you to get in touch with us as soon as you can.”

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 8756, quoting reference number 2087 of 12/11/18 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
