Trailer stolen from farm in Newhey

Date published: 14 January 2019

A 22-foot trailer containing equipment for a Nordic tepee has been stolen from Haugh Farm in Newhey.

CCTV footage shows the Ifor Williams trailer and its contents, worth approximately £15,000, being taken from the farm at 6am on Saturday morning (12 January).

The trailer contained heavy goods, including poles strapped to the shelving, baskets containing pegs, poles, lights, hook ups and a huge tepee within a plastic white and blue bag.

Rhiannon Walsh said: “We’re devastated it’s gone; we feel awful someone has been on the property and didn’t hear it leave.

“I have been to have a look round and found some tools used to damage our lock on the trailer, so this will be damaged on the tow bar.

“The CCTV trawl we’ve done shows it coming down Haugh Lane onto Two Bridges, before travelling along Shaw Road to the roundabout and down Elizabethan Way towards Rochdale. We believe they were driving a Mitsubishi Delica.

“Any help or information is very much appreciated.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “We were called at 7.41am on 12 January to a property on Haugh Fold, Newhey to a report of the theft of a trailer.

“The offenders approached the property before removing a trailer from a driveway.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
