Rochdale Food & Drink Festival, March of the Mods Charity Weekender, Heywood Model Railway Group Annual Exhibition, The Jeffrey Lawton Festival of Music, Addams Family The Musical, Fundraiser for the rebuild of 12 Lilac Avenue, Craft & Spring Fairs, St Patrick’s Day Entertainment & an 80’s/90’s Themed Disco - lots to do in and around the borough this weekend.

The Addams Family – The Musical – Heywood Civic Centre, Fri 15 & Sat 16, 2.15pm – 4.15pm Saturday matinee / 7.30pm – 9.30pm each evening

Presented by Heywood Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (HAODS).


Heywood Model Railway Group Annual Exhibition – Rochdale Masonic Hall, Sat 16 10am – 5pm & Sun 17 10am – 4pm

Open to members of the public, see the layouts owned by the club / club members along with other model railway clubs.


March of the Mods Charity Weekender 2019 – Empire Rochdale, Fri 15, Sat 16 & Sun 17, live music at various times

In aid of Teenage Cancer Trust, Empire are hosting a full weekend of live entertainment and a family fun day on Sunday.



  • Friday 15 March

Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy Tree Planting Ceremony – Mandale Park, 11.15am

Join Rochdale Connections Trust, the Mayor and Deputy Lieutenant for Rochdale as they undertake a ceremonial planting of saplings.


Rochdale Gramophone Society – St George’s Church Hall, 2.30pm – 4.30pm

This weeks title is India, presented by Martin Winn.


Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers Meeting – Castleton Community Centre, 7pm – 8.45pm

Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers (RSMEE), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest societies in the country.

  • Saturday 16 March

Rochdale Food and Drink Festival – Rochdale Town Hall, 10am – 8pm

Six chefs will be cooking live during the event packed with tips, techniques and the opportunity to ask questions. The Mad Science team will also be hosting spectacular free workshops and Mr Bloom from CBeebies will make an appearance.


Morning Coffee in aid of MND – St Clement’s Church, 10am – 12noon

All proceeds to be given to Motor Neurone Disease Association. Body Shop products will also be on sale.


Coach House Craft Fair – Littleborough Coach House, 11am – 3pm

The Cherry Tree Cafe inside the Coach House will also be serving breakfasts and refreshments throughout the day.


Christ Church Spring Fair – Christ Church, Healey, 11am – 2pm

With a variety of stalls such as chocolate, bric-a-brac, toiletries and more.


Fundraiser for the rebuild of 12 Lilac Avenue – Milnrow Cricket Club, from 1pm

Supporting the Fire Fighters Charity and raising money to help rebuild the family home that was destroyed by a fire.


The Ian Newman Community Film Club – Bamford Chapel and Norden URC, film begins 7pm

This sessions film is Mamma Mia, Here We Go Again (2018).


CAFT 80’s/90’s Themed Fundraiser – Rochdale Cricket Club, 7pm – late

With a disco, karaoke and fancy dress, The Children’s and Families Trust are raising money to take children with various disabilities to Lourdes, France.


The Fureys Tour 2019 – Middleton Arena, 7.30pm – 9.45pm

Legends of Irish music and song, The Fureys have been entertaining audiences worldwide for 41 years.


Live Music: St Paddy’s Eve with The Scattering – The Flying Horse Hotel, band on 10pm

Jigs, Guinness and a strong sense of vague nationalism for St Patrick’s!

  • Sunday 17 March

New Zealand Terrorist Attack Peace Vigil - Rochdale Cenotaph, gather from 1.30pm for 2pm start

People of all faiths and none are welcome to attend. We stand together.


Sunday Morning Fitness Sessions – Rochdale Judo Club, 10am – 11am

To develop strength, balance, co-ordination, agility, aerobic fitness and discipline.


The Jeffrey Lawton Festival of Music 2019 – Long Street Methodist Church, doors open 2pm

A celebration of music by former pupils of and contemporaries of Jeffrey Lawton, hosted by Rotary Middleton and Springhill Hospice.


St Patrick’s Day Live Music: The White Hairs – Browns No 1, Heywood, 4pm

Live classic rock music with an Irish set.


Jazz on a Sunday – Newtown National Club, doors open 7.15pm

Tonight we welcome Doc Houlind's Revival from Denmark.
