Rochdale Riverside scheme making progress

The Rochdale Riverside scheme is making good progress and is due to complete in 2020.

The external cladding of the leisure block, where the cinema and restaurants are housed, is continuing, this also includes the glazing which will be complete in the next couple of weeks.

Internally the walls are being built, the electrical works have commenced, and work has also started to build the terraced seating for the cinema screens.

Steelwork for the section of building that will house Boots has begun.

The steel work for the Marks and Spencer building is complete and now the brickwork is underway, and the metal decking has also started.

Foundations are being dug for the car park and the steel work for the car park will start in May.

Temporary access remains in front of the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre for service vehicles travelling along Yorkshire Street and Baillie Street.

This access is restricted to one way heading out towards the new road and limited to between the hours of 6pm and 10am. 

This temporary access will remain in place until June when Constantine Road will re-open to traffic.
