The opening of a fire hydrant on Gower Street in Rochdale has caused a huge water leak in the area on Tuesday (5pm on 25 June).

A spokesperson for United Utilities confirmed: "A third party has opened a fire hydrant. This will be causing low pressure to some residents in the area, which we apologise for.

"An engineer has been dispatched, and this should be resolved fairly quickly."
