Former Mayor thanks his mayoral team and town hall staff

Date published: 28 June 2019

Former Mayor, Councillor Mohammed Zaman, thanked his mayoral team and the staff at Rochdale Town Hall yesterday with a lunch and gifts.

Councillor Mohammed Zaman gave staff chocolates and presented specially engraved silver salvers to his mayoral team, Nazam Suleman, Dorothy Johnstone and Richard Hall.

Councillor Zaman said: “The amount of support and respect I received from the staff at Rochdale Town Hall during my mayoral year is truly beyond recognition.

“I developed an incredible friendship with Nazam, Dorothy and Richard over my time as Deputy Mayor and Mayor, and even though I am no longer the Mayor, I still very much feel like part of the family.

“They made the year very easy as I always felt comfortable and relaxed. They helped me build so many bridges, connections and relationships, which I never would have had the opportunity to build otherwise.

“Thank you not only to the mayoral team, but to all the staff at the town hall, especially the kitchen staff who, even at very short notice, always produced delicious meals.”
