Frank Hauxwell from Blackley Golf Club said: “We had a great turnout of over 60 players across 12 teams.”

Joanne Mund said: “Well done to all involved and thanks to our presenters and England Golf, as well as all at Blackley Golf Club, Middleton who got involved and provided support on the day

Participants told their stories about how they came to be playing with quotes such as ‘without this I wouldn’t have recovered my confidence’ and ‘golf has opened my eyes to speed my recovery and share experiences with other sufferers’.

Joanne said: “The Get Into Golf partnership has shown that the sport really is for all abilities.

“On the day we had a mixture of stroke survivors who were beginners, those who’ve been attending Get Into Golf sessions and people who were returning to the game for the first time since their stroke.”
