Dino Day in Rochdale

Shoppers enjoyed a fun-filled event on Thursday 1 August as Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre unveiled its very own Triceratops statue and took pint-sized palaeontologists on an action-packed ride back to prehistoric times in honour of Dippy’s visit to Rochdale in 2020.

With an automated-sensor roar and life-like features, lots of visitors stopped to take pictures with this incredible creature.

In a specially created dino digging pit, event-goers had the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and get stuck right in, equipped with special tools and brushes, youngsters searched for fossils from thousands of years ago whilst learning all about dinosaurs.

Families also got creative with a giant doodle cube, which was located on the mall. Children and parents were invited to pick up a colourful marker and put their stamp on this personalised creation.
