Playday at Crimble Croft Community Centre

Date published: 15 August 2019

Crimble Croft Community Centre, Heywood, was bursting at the seams for its yearly national playday event on Wednesday 7 August.

There was everything from treasure hunts and messy play, to glitter tattoos, treasure hunts and making your own ‘Forky’ character from the Toy Story 4 film.

Cartwheel Arts did a beautiful job of printing a huge oak tree that the children really enjoyed.

The Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Billy Sheerin, came along and joined in with lots of the activities on the day, and the Heywood Lions charity helped out by serving the OAP Luncheon club.

Secretary of Crimble Croft, Louise Kershaw, said: “We couldn't have held the day as successfully without the help of Argos, who had chosen Crimble Croft as their charity to give a makeover to and help with volunteering on the day itself.

“People from all over Heywood came to support this fantastic event.”

The event was sponsored by Aqua Check, Adelaide Engineering, Heywood Rotary Club, Mutual Mills and Heywood East Residents’ Association, and Argos.
