Bury College congratulates students on their success

It has been another year of exceptional achievement at Bury College. 

Over 750 students are on target to take up university places and many more will be progressing into jobs, including Apprenticeships.

Many students have secured places at the Bury College University Centre and students have also successfully secured places at universities throughout the country.

Ryan Hopkins, a former Wardle Academy pupil secured an A* grade in A Level Maths and two B grades in Further Maths and Physics. Ryan will now progress onto the University of Liverpool to study Aerospace Engineering.

Ryan said, “I am relieved that all my hard work has paid off and I have achieved such exceptional results.”

Former Wardle Academy pupil Abbie Mayor is now progressing onto The University of Edinburgh to study English Language and Linguistic. Abbie was delighted to achieve an A grade in Drama and B grades in English Language and Geography.  

Abbie said, “I am very happy and excited for the future. My two years of studying has been hard but extremely rewarding.”

Ibrahim Hussein has secured Triple Distinction Stars in his BTEC Level 3 IT Diploma. Ibrahim will now progress onto Manchester Metropolitan University to study Computer Science.

Ibrahim said, “I feel very proud of myself to achieve these amazing results. I have enjoyed my time at Bury College as I have made lots of friends.”

Former Matthew Moss High School pupil Tinashe Kuwengwa achieved Triple Distinction Stars in Level 3 Mechanical Engineering. Tinashe will now study Civil Engineering at Leeds Becket University.

Tinashe said, “I am proud of myself because I achieved the best grades possible. My Bury College tutors have been great and the campus is brilliant.”

Bury College Principal Charlie Deane said: “Congratulations to all our students on their achievements. This has been another wonderful year for results. Hundreds of learners will now be progressing to university or employment due to their hard work and commitment, supported by the expertise and dedication of our staff.  

“In addition to their achievements, learners have benefitted from a strong preparation for continuing education and employment.  Students have greatly impressed us this year with their personal development and leave us equipped with vital skills they need to take on the challenges of their future careers and studies.

“Bury College is committed to supporting positive futures for all our students.  We are extremely proud to be able to serve our community through education and training. 

“On behalf of the Bury College Corporation and all our staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish our students every success at university or in their chosen career”.
