Train lines blocked as woman on tracks ‘taken to safety’

Railway lines between Rochdale and Manchester Victoria were blocked due to a trespasser on the line yesterday afternoon (Thursday 5 September).
British Transport Police were called to Mills Hill Station, Middleton, at 1.30pm, following concerns for a woman.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to an area of railway near Oldham Road, Middleton.
“Officers searched the area, located the woman and took her to a place of safety.”
The line was reopened at around 2.30pm, with delays of up to 60 minutes.
