Decades of experience at Rosso saluted at glittering presentation evening

Date published: 31 October 2019

Long-serving team members from Rosso were among 80 team members from across the North to receive Celebration of Service awards from parent company Transdev at a presentation dinner on Saturday 5 October.

Family, friends and colleagues watched with pride as the presentations took place at a sparkling celebration dinner in the new Emerald Suite at Headingley Stadium in Leeds.

Each award winner has reached their own personal milestone this year – from 25 years’ service all the way up to half a century - either on the buses or working behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning.

Among those beaming with pride was Rosso’s longest serving colleague – Roy Corbridge, who this year celebrates 41 years of service with the company, having been part of the team at the Rochdale and Haslingden sites over the years.

Speaking of the evening, Roy, who now holds the position of Fleet Inspector for Rosso’s buses in Blackburn, said: “It was a lovely event, well organised and great to be recognised by the company for the work we do every day. Myself and my wife had a thoroughly enjoyable evening alongside some great people."

Transdev CEO Alex Hornby said: “Nothing beats celebrating the achievements of our people who work so hard to deliver the amazing service we provide across Rossendale and Greater Manchester. The dedication of our longest serving people to going the extra mile and more is certainly something worth celebrating. Their years of experience on and off the road are vital to understanding what our customers want from us, and as a growing business we benefit greatly from their knowledge and professionalism.

“Our Celebration of Service award winners can look back with pride at a combined total of 3,500 years of superb customer care. Their knowledge built up over decades provides a guiding light to the newer members of our team, and ensures we have a strong and secure foundation on which to build our future success.”
