Middleton Christmas Lights Switch On, Christmas Food and Craft Fayre, Boutique Baby Sale – Rochdale, RADARS Winter Radio Rally, Zumbathon in aid of Jolly Josh, In Harmony Singers Concert, The Ian Newman Community Film Club, Save the Greenbelt Quiz Night and a Fashion Show - lots to do in and around the borough this weekend.

Christmas Food and Craft Fayre – Gordon Rigg Garden Centre Rochdale, Sat 16 Nov 10am – 4pm & Sun 17 Nov 11am – 4pm

With over 30 local food & craft stalls, a face painter and balloon modeller.


  • Friday 15 November

Ladies Night – Cherwell Wellbeing Hub, 6pm – 10pm

Supporting local businesses and craft stalls with music and licensed bar.


Smithy Bridge & Littleborough Save the Greenbelt Quiz Night – Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club, 7pm

Win prizes with teams of 4-6 players.


Rochdale Society of Model & Experimental Engineers Meeting – Castleton Community Centre, 7pm – 8.45pm

A talk by David Thornbe on ‘Steam in Rhodesia & Zambia’.


Castleton Literary & Scientific Society – Castleton Community Centre, 7pm

Edwin Waugh - The Lancashire Burns with speaker Alyson Brailsford.


Live Music: Mister Moo & His New Shoes – Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

The ultimate Ska party band.

  • Saturday 16 November

RADARS Winter Radio Rally – St Vincent de Paul’s Church Hall, doors open 10.15am

Bring & Buy as well as commercial traders and amateur radio sellers. Guest speakers throughout.


St Aidan's Church Autumn Fair – St Aidan’s Church Hall, 11am – 1pm

Home bakes, tombola, cards, toys, gifts and chocolates.


Middleton Christmas Lights Switch On – Middleton Gardens, 12noon – 6.30pm

A funfair, photobooth and fireworks finale at 6pm.


In Harmony Singers Concert - St Thomas Church, Newhey, 2pm – 4pm

In Harmony Singers from High Crompton will sing a variety of musical pieces.


Christmas Coffee, Cake and Crafts – Heywood Baptist Church, 2.30pm – 4.30pm

Raising money for The Embassy Bus homeless project with handmade crafts and Fairtrade goods.


The Ian Newman Community Film Club – Bamford Chapel and Norden URC, film begins 7pm

This sessions film is The Lady in the Van starring Maggie Smith.


Annual Fashion Show – Smithy Bridge Methodist Church, 7pm

Great clothes at charity shop prices. Tickets £1.50.


Live Music: Take That Live - Empire Rochdale, 6pm – 4am

The ultimate Take That tribute experience.

  • Sunday 17 November

Zumbathon in aid of Jolly Josh – Empire Rochdale, 1pm start – 4pm

With Zumba Flava by Caroline and Taira from Rochdale Pilates & Yoga. Includes a raffle and the bar will be open.


Boutique Baby Sale – Rochdale Leisure Centre, 1.30pm

Over 35 stalls packed with top quality baby and children's (approx 0-5 years) items.


Shelters and Campfires – Hollingworth Lake Visitor Centre, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

Create your own shelter and enjoy a campfire.


'Entente Cordiale' - Rochdale Parish Church St Chad's, 3pm

A one-hour celebration of French and English music with Bury Choral Society.


Rochdale in Rainbows: Open Table – St Clement’s Church, 6.30pm

An ecumenical Christian worship community which offers a warm welcome to all LGBT+ people.


Jazz on a Sunday – Newtown National Club, concert 7.45pm – 10.30pm

With Washington Whirligig.
