Anti-bullying week at two Rochdale mosques

Date published: 19 November 2019

Two Rochdale mosques are holding an anti-bullying week in its educational madrassahs, organised by the Islamic not-for-profit group Dawat-e-Islami.

The anti-bullying week will be held at Faizane Madina Mosque, on Foxholes Road, and Faizan e Jamal e Mustafa, on Milkstone Road, until Wednesday 20 November.

Student workshops with question and answer sessions, role-playing classes, one to one sessions and buddy and mentor sessions are being held to help younger members.

Specialist training for madrassah teachers has also been provided, and literature distributed to parents and children.

Imran Mohammed, from Dawat-e-Islami, said: “This issue affects thousands of young people every year and we want to raise awareness which is why we introduced a full week dedicated to this topic.

“We will have regular top-up sessions on anti-bullying throughout the year.”
