Adult care goes the extra mile to support residents over Christmas

Date published: 09 December 2019

Rochdale Borough Council’s adult care team will be available over Christmas to provide key services to residents across the borough.

A team of staff will be working throughout the festive period to deal with emergencies and ensure people are supported and cared for in an emergency.

The council’s emergency number for adult care services (0300 303 8875) will be staffed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and the weekend of Saturday 28 December and Sunday 29 December.

On the other days over the Christmas period, the usual adult care phone line (0300 303 8886) will be available for service users to get in touch between 8.45am-4.45pm. Outside of those times, people needing support should call the emergency number.

The council’s dedicated service means that help and support will be available, to those most in need, throughout the festive break.

Sally McIvor, the council’s director of adult care, said: “The service we are providing for our residents over Christmas underlines what a dedicated and hard-working team of staff we have across adult care.

“No one should feel isolated, alone or vulnerable over the festive period, which is why will be on hand to deal with any crisis or concerns.

“We are proud of the service we offer not just at Christmas, but all year round.”
