Here’s what to do if you still haven’t received your postal vote

Date published: 09 December 2019

With the general election only days away, you may be concerned if you still haven’t received your postal votes.

Whilst you can’t pop down to your local polling office if you’ve applied for a postal vote, you can apply for a replacement by calling into Number One Riverside before 5pm on Thursday (12 December).

Your postal vote must arrive at your electoral office by 10pm on 12 December; you can drop your completed form off at your local polling station up until this time to make sure it’s counted.

When voting by post, you should:

  • mark your vote on your ballot paper in secret
  • fill in the postal voting statement
  • put the ballot and statement in the envelope provided
  • seal the envelope yourself

Clare Poole, elections manager at Rochdale Borough Council said: “If you haven’t received your postal voting pack, or have mislaid it, you can get a replacement by calling in person to Number One Riverside, Rochdale before 5pm on election day.

“You will need to bring photographic proof of your identity, for example your passport, photo driving licence, bus permit, or student card.

“If you are unable to collect in person, please call us on 0300 303 0345.”
