Man arrested on suspicion of rape faces no further action after release

A 57-year-old man arrested on suspicion of rape has been released and faces no further action.

A 16-year-old girl was raped by a man in Wardle at around 5pm on Wednesday 15 January. 

The investigation is continuing and officers are still pursuing further significant lines of enquiry.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 0161 856 4646, quoting incident number 2066 of 15/01/2020. Reports can also be made anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
