Rochdale’s Got Talent: final three acts revealed

Finalists Xela, Beth, Alana and Estelle will submit new videos for the final vote

The three grand finalists for Rochdale’s Got Talent have been revealed, with each submitting a new video in the hopes of being crowned the contest’s winner.

The finalists, as chosen by over 7,000 public votes, are opera singer Beth; dancing duo Alana, 18, and Estelle, 15; and 11-year-old dancer Xela.

The contest, which is aiming to raise £10,000 for Springhill Hospice, has so far raised £7,500 for the cause, with organisers Paul Ellison and Sam Kutereba-Wall optimistic they will reach their target.

They said: “We have both really enjoyed Rochdale’s Got Talent, which we started to raise a much-needed £10,000 for Springhill Hospice. The hospice requires over £8,000 a day to run, so every penny we raise will go a long way to keeping its vital services running.

“We’ve had some wonderful entries, and I think we’ve shown that Rochdale definitely has some fantastic talent out there. Please help us by voting for your favourite act, and also donating what you can to such an important cause.”

All three finalists will now submit a new video before Friday (5 June), before the last round of voting opens that day, having beaten ten other acts to the finals.

Voting will take place between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sunday.

The winner will take home the grand prize, a £1,000 jewellery voucher from John Swinden. Further prizes for contestants include: a chance to be an extra on TV through Carol Godby's performing arts school; a chance to perform on stage at the Flying Horse Hotel; vouchers for the Baum, Bombay Brew, Platos Y Bebidas, and Norden’s new upcoming venue Hop & Vine; cupcakes from Amelia’s Cupcakes;  alcoholic beverages from Deckers; a beauty voucher from The Face Clinic; and t-shirts and balloons from Perfect Balloons.

A special prize has also been given to the nurses at Fairfield Hospital for their video entry to ‘Amarillo’ – although they did not make the final 13 – as testament to their hard work during the current situation. Their prize – two dozen small bottles of prosecco – has been donated by Michael Howarth, who owns the Hop & Vine and Rochdale’s Vicolo del Vino wine alley.
