The Willows' Jade Crossley wins national Care Home Hero award

Date published: 07 June 2020

Jade Crossley has won a national Care Home Hero award for her work surrounding activities at The Willows Dementia Hub.

Chosen as the winner from hundreds of entries, Jade was nominated for the award by the management team at the Willows Dementia Hub – winning a luxury hamper from Birchall Foodservice.

Management at the Willows said: “Jade keeps everyone’s spirits up with her innovative activities for our residents with dementia. She makes everyone smile with her Tik Tok videos and gets everyone up dancing and singing. She also makes the ladies feel special with her har and makeup skills.

“Jade is a joy to have around in this particularly difficult time when the residents can’t see their families. Residents and staff alike love her.

“We’re sure everyone will agree the award is well deserved; congratulations, Jade.”

The judges said: “This had been one of the hardest decisions that we’ve had to make, but we’re pleased to announce that Jade Crossley from The Willows in Rochdale is our Care Home Hero.

“Well done Jade and keep up the fabulous work that you’re doing.

“It has been really emotional during this campaign, and we’ve been truly humbled by the response. Care home workers really are superheroes and we thank you all for everything that you’re doing, not just during the current crisis but every single day.”
