Date published: 27 October 2020

Five pupils from Beech House School have been named as first place winners in this year’s Independent Schools Association (ISA) North of England Arts Festival.

Key stage 4 student Ella Raw won two categories, the Art 2D and the Art 3D for her face and owl entries, respectively, as fellow Key Stage 4 pupil Nicole Healey won the textile category with her friendship entry.

Harriet Whitbread’s fruit won the key stage 2 drawing and Anique Ali’s drawing of hands was judged the best entry in key stage 3.

A group entry of Humpty Dumpty for Art 3D was won by the early years foundation stage group.

Principal of Beech House, Kevin Sartain said: “We delighted to announce the school have six first place winners in the thirty five categories. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students and Mrs Ali for all their hard work and commitment to art.”

The winners will now take part in the ISA National Art Competition, which is held annually for schools to showcase their pupils’ art and for teachers to share best practice and ideas.

There are dozens of classes to cover different age groups and genres, from 2D art, through to fashion and photography.

The ISA National Art Competition takes place in February.
