Central Ambulance Station in Manchester was also targeted with fireworks
Paramedics were put in danger when a firework was thrown at them as they treated a patient on Bonfire Night (5 November).
At least one firework was thrown at paramedics as they tended to an injured man on the road on St Albans Street in Rochdale at 8pm. Fortunately, it missed, but struck the ambulance, landing nearby.
Luckily it did not hamper efforts to provide care to the patient.
Head of Service for Greater Manchester, Dan Smith said: “This is completely unacceptable behaviour; we are stunned that people feel they can behave in this way.
“While fortunately nobody was hurt and no damage was done during these incidents, it could have resulted in serious injury or worse. There is simply no excuse for this reckless and dangerous behaviour.”
“While the majority of people listen to our messages about enjoying Bonfire night responsibly, it is extremely disappointing to see that a small minority fail to take notice.
“We are working to support our staff affected also the police have been informed. If anyone has any information about those responsible we urge them to get in contact with them.”
Central Ambulance Station in Manchester was also targeted with fireworks as was Moreton Ambulance Station on the Wirral.
